  1. I read TEL’s Seven Pillars of Wisdom for the first time when I was 10. Have read it many times since. He’s been my lodestar all my life — and I’ve already outlived him by about 15 years. I’m a border-crosser, as he was, though less conspicuously and (so far) without such tragic results. But he’s never far from my mind.

  2. He was indeed a fascinating person and what he left behind is certainly inspiring. This quote is one of my favorites. Only those who are consciously aware of their dreams have the power to achieve them.
It is a powerful statement which in my view compliments another of my favorite quotes, this time by Edgar A. Poe: “Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night.”
I have yet to read Seven Pillars of Wisdom but it is on my must-read list together with other gifted writers (Jack Kerouac is surely one of them).
